Supervisor AD

Analytical Development is a department within the R&D unit focussing on the development of analytical methods for allergen preparations for therapeutic and diagnostic use. The department consists of scientist(s) and (sr) technicians.
The supervisor is responsible for an efficient AD team in which personal well-being is valued. The Supervisor AD is also responsible for all aspects of analytical development for HAL Allergy including the development, improvement, pre-validation and implementation of analytical methods. The Supervisor AD will provide scientific oversight into the analytical design and technology transfer to GMP operations and will ensure that the analytical development activities meet the business and regulatory needs of HAL Allergy.
Your tasks
- Accountable for the results of the Analytical Development department. Coordinates daily activities, sets priorities and ensures effective daily operation of the department. May coach team members on performance and provides input in employee performance evaluations, recruitment and other personnel actions with oversight from a manager.
- Develop and maintain the AD department to ensure that the analytical capabilities are aligned with the company’s business and ambitions.
- Organize regular personal meetings with AD-members
- Keep track of AD-tasks in relation to timelines.
- Train junior or less experienced staff to reach a level that is in accord with job requirements.
- Lead and coach a team of motivated (sr.) scientists and technicians. and form a centre of (technical) expertise on specific analytical methods. Discuss planning and working assignments with employees.
- Ensure high-quality of the work performed by the department and make sure that new and improved analytical methods comply with relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP).
- Plans and prioritises own work, and co-ordinates that of direct reports, in line with corporate business targets and to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Provide regular progress reports (verbal and written) and ensure documentation of study plans, results and reports.
- The Supervisor AD will escalate if required.
You have
- Preferably a PhD degree in life sciences, bio-processing or food technology (or equivalent) with a minimum of five years relevant experience in pharmaceutical product development (for an MSc degree at least eight years of relevant experience).
- Experience with immunological assays such as ELISA and immunoblot.
- Experience with tech transfer from development to GMP production.
- Scientific skills (knowledge, accuracy, autonomy, design of experiments).
