IT Business Applications Specialist

Locatie Leiden (NL) / Hybride - 36-40 uur.

To strengthen our IT team, we are looking for an IT Business Applications Specialist who combines technical expertise with strong analytical skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Your tasks

As IT Business Applications Specialist, you act as the key link between business processes and IT systems. You ensure our ERP and business applications effectively support daily operations while continuously identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.

This role goes beyond system support. You contribute to process enhancement, data-driven decision-making, and long-term system stability.

 

Futhermore you:

  • Manage and optimize business applications (such as ELO, Jet Enterprise, Exsion,
  • Microsoft Flow/CE, Ordering Portal).
  • Maintain knowledge of and provide support for ERP systems.
  • Maintain and improve software and interfaces in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Handle standard service requests and incidents quickly and effectively.
  • Analyze business needs, test changes, and support implementations.
  • Deliver user training, manage user accounts, and implement procedures.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contribute to project management activities.
  • Contribute to (international) improvement projects and process changes.
  • Prepare documentation (requirements, process flows, data diagrams).
  • Provide helpdesk support, register issues, and escalate when necessary.
  • Deliver management reports as requested.
     

Authorities

  • Authorized to provide standard user training (under supervision of a specialist if required).
  • Implement new or modified procedures related to business applications.
  • Act as point of contact for external vendors providing support services for the applications in use.
     

Projects

  • Contribute to keeping business applications up to date.
  • Handle standard and routine change requests.
  • Participate in (international) improvement projects.
  • Prepare effective system and process documentation (business and system requirements, process diagrams, and data flow diagrams).
     

Helpdesk

  • First point of contact for internal users regarding routine application questions and issues.
  • Resolve routine problems and advise users on preventing similar issues in the future (by phone or on-site).
  • Actively work within the helpdesk system, follow up on requests, and document solutions.
  • Register issues, identify structural problems, and escalate to management or the responsible department when necessary.
  • Create and manage users and user access rights.
  • Deliver standard user training sessions.
  • Provide international support where applicable.
  • Prepare reports for management.
You have
  • Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in IT.
  • Preferably at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Affinity with and experience in databases, data analysis, SQL, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Power BI, Board, or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Ability to read and understand AL, C/AL, and C/SIDE, and to work with Microsoft ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in support, troubleshooting, debugging, solution implementation, and user training.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience within manufacturing, sales support, warehousing, and supply chain environments.
  • Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside regular office hours (e.g., during updates and migrations).
  • Ability to provide remote support to users, including international stakeholders.
