Director IT
Location: Leiden (NL) | Hours: 36-40 per week
This role is based in the Netherlands. Applicants must be eligible to work in the Netherlands.
As Director IT, you are responsible for leading and managing HAL Allergy’s IT function in an efficient, secure, and future-proof way. You provide strategic leadership to the IT organization and ensure that all IT systems, infrastructure, and services support the company’s objectives.
You oversee technology operations, drive the implementation of new IT systems and policies, and advise the Board on technological developments. Your goal is to ensure that IT solutions are effective and operate within agreed budgets, timelines, and specifications.
Your tasks
Strategic Leadership
- Provide strategic guidance on technology trends and emerging developments and assess their impact on the organization
- Align IT initiatives with the overall business strategy in close collaboration with the management team
- Ensure optimal team structure and capacity to achieve company objectives
IT Operations Management
- Optimize HAL Allergy’s IT infrastructure to ensure performance, stability, and scalability
- Lead internal IT project teams and ensure delivery of milestones and objectives
- Analyze business requirements across departments and translate them into technology solutions
- Oversee IT operations of all HAL affiliates, ensuring compliance with HAL Allergy IT guidelines and up-to-date local IT environments
- Select and procure cost-effective hardware, software, and IT services
- Identify needs for system upgrades or new solutions and report to senior management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manage cost-efficient contracts
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team
- Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and innovative working environment
- Define IT job descriptions and training matrices and support continuous development of the team
Information Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including NIS2
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and increase organizational security maturity (target level 3.0)
- Establish, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Technical Support & Service Delivery
- Ensure effective and efficient IT support for all employees
- Implement and maintain IT service management (ITSM) processes and tools
- Monitor service performance and continuously improve service delivery metrics
You have
- ·Master’s degree with a strong IT focus
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment
- Proven experience in IT system analysis, implementation, and evaluation
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and technology operations
- Experience managing IT budgets
- Demonstrated people management experience (teams of 10+ professionals)
- Solid project management experience
