At HAL Allergy Group, we are accelerating our digital transformation journey and looking for an experienced Automation and Integration Engineer to help us unlock the power of automation, system integration, and Artificial Intelligence.

In this role, you will design, build, deploy, and maintain innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and create measurable business value across the organization. Working within a regulated GMP environment, your mission is to simplify processes, eliminate manual effort, improve data flows, and enable smarter ways of working through automation and AI.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will combine software development, system integration, automation technologies, and AI capabilities to solve real business challenges. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, Quality, and Engineering colleagues to turn ideas and requirements into secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions.

Your tasks

As Automation and Integration Engineer, you will:

  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to identify, prioritize, and deliver automation, integration, and AI initiatives.
  • Analyze existing processes and define future-state solutions that increase efficiency and reduce operational complexity.
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between business systems using APIs, middleware, and Azure Integration Services.
  • Build data and system integrations that enable reporting, automation, and AI-driven capabilities.
  • Develop automation solutions using Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and RPA technologies.
  • Transform manual and paper-based processes into streamlined digital workflows.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications, machine learning solutions, and intelligent automation capabilities embedded within business processes.
  • Implement and support secure AI solutions in cloud, private, or on-premises environments.
  • Support integration and automation initiatives at the interface between IT and Operational Technology (OT), collaborating closely with Engineering and Automation teams.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps principles to build scalable, repeatable, and auditable solutions.
  • Deliver user training, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer to support successful adoption.
  • Manage the full solution lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation, validation, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, compliant, monitored, and aligned with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Contribute to target-state architecture and maintain alignment with enterprise standards and governance frameworks.
  • Continuously monitor and improve solution performance, reliability, user adoption, and business outcomes.
You have
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software development, automation, system integration, or related technical roles.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing AI-enabled business solutions.
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications, digital workflows, integrations, and automation platforms.
Who are we looking for?

Technical Expertise

  • Strong programming skills in at least one modern programming language.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
    • Azure Functions
    • Logic Apps
    • API Management
    • Azure AI Services
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, authentication mechanisms, and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or manufacturing.
  • Experience deploying and governing private, cloud-based, or on-premises AI solutions.
  • Knowledge of AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and enterprise AI integrations.
  • Dutch language skills.
